Choosing the Right Spray Gun
DeVilbiss offers guns tailored to specific jobs. The StartingLine series is excellent for beginners and DIYers spraying primers and single-stage paints. For professional, everyday use, the TEKNA and GTI Pro Lite series offer unmatched atomization, massive fan patterns, and interchangeable fluid tips to handle the latest waterborne basecoats and high-solid clear coats.
Clean Air is Critical (CamAir)
The best paint gun in the world will fail if your air compressor is pumping water and compressor oil into your air hose. DeVilbiss CamAir filtration systems use multi-stage desiccant filters to pull 100% of the moisture and dirt out of your air lines, preventing fisheyes, blistering, and ruined paint jobs.
What is the difference between an HVLP and a standard spray gun?
HVLP stands for High Volume, Low Pressure. These guns use a high volume of air at a much lower pressure at the air cap to atomize the paint. This results in significantly less "overspray," meaning more paint actually sticks to the car and less is wasted in the air, which saves you money and is better for the environment.
What fluid tip size do I need for automotive clear coat?
For modern automotive clear coats, a 1.3mm or 1.4mm fluid tip is the industry standard. A smaller tip (like a 1.2mm) is often used for thin basecoats, while a large tip (1.8mm or 2.0mm) is required to spray thick primers.
