The Global Leader in Power Transmission & Fluid Transfer
When it comes to belts and hoses, mechanics trust Gates. Driven by over a century of innovation, Gates manufactures OE-equivalent Micro-V serpentine belts, high-temp EPDM coolant hoses, and complete timing belt component kits. Ensure your engine accessories spin smoothly and your cooling system stays pressurized with the unparalleled durability of genuine Gates products.
Gates Micro-V Serpentine Belts
Modern engines use incredibly small pulleys that rapidly bend and flex the drive belt. Gates Micro-V belts are constructed from advanced EPDM rubber compounds that resist heat, cracking, and stretching far better than older neoprene belts, ensuring quiet, slip-free operation for your alternator, power steering, and A/C compressor.
Timing Belt Component Kits (TCKWP)
If your engine has a timing belt, a failure will lead to catastrophic internal engine damage. When it's time for maintenance, never just replace the belt. Gates TCKWP kits provide the heavy-duty timing belt, the hydraulic tensioners, the idler pulleys, and the water pump all in one box. Replacing everything at once saves you from paying double labor costs later.
Why should I buy a Gates Timing Belt Kit with a Water Pump?
The water pump is usually located directly behind the timing belt. To replace a failing water pump, the mechanic has to remove the timing belt anyway. Replacing the water pump, tensioners, and belt all at the same time is the safest, most cost-effective way to ensure long-term engine reliability.
What causes a serpentine belt to squeal?
A squealing belt is usually caused by a loss of tension. Over time, the internal spring in your automatic belt tensioner weakens, allowing the belt to slip against the pulleys. It can also be caused by a glazed (hardened) belt, or a failing bearing in an idler pulley. We recommend replacing the tensioner whenever you replace the belt.
