FRAM FV350 PCV Valve
Description
The PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve is an essential component in an internal combustion engine's emissions control system. Its primary function is to manage and remove harmful blow-by gases that escape past the piston rings into the crankcase.
- Prevents Pressure Buildup: The valve helps to relieve pressure within the crankcase, which can otherwise lead to oil leaks and damage to engine seals.
- Reduces Emissions: By recirculating these gases back into the engine's intake manifold, they are re-burned, significantly reducing the release of pollutants into the atmosphere.
- Maintains Engine Health: It prevents the accumulation of sludge and moisture in the engine oil, thereby extending engine life and maintaining lubrication effectiveness.
- Optimizes Performance: A properly functioning PCV valve contributes to stable idle, efficient fuel combustion, and overall engine reliability.
Regular inspection and timely replacement of the PCV valve are crucial for maintaining optimal engine performance, ensuring compliance with emission standards, and preventing potential engine damage.

OEM or aftermarket?
An OEM part is made by, or for, the company that built the vehicle and carries their branding. An aftermarket part is made by another manufacturer to fit the same application, usually for less. Quality runs from below OEM to above it depending on the brand, so the name on the box matters more than the label.
