Description
This Sensor Assembly, specifically a Direct Mount MAP Sensor, is engineered to withstand tough performance testing, including test-to-failure endurance and materials durability tests, ensuring long-lasting quality and operation. It undergoes a rigorous regimen of punishing tests to meet strict Ford O.E. quality, performance, and durability standards, including Key Life testing equivalent to 10-years/150,000 miles for passenger cars and light trucks.
It is among the only parts recommended by Ford Motor Company for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. The Direct Mount MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor is an electronic sensor that communicates the amount of air being pulled into the engine's intake manifold. The engine control module utilizes the MAP Sensor's air pressure data, along with air temperature and engine speed (RPMs) sensor data signals, to control ignition timing and air/fuel mixture, achieving optimum combustion efficiency (stoichiometry).
