Description
These Alarm Switch Assemblies must meet Ford's stringent O.E. quality, performance, and durability standards, including Key Life testing to the equivalent of 10-years/150,000 miles for passenger cars and light trucks.
They undergo a series of punishing functional and materials tests to ensure durability, functionality, and long life. These tests include proper electrical functionality, material fatigue, mechanical and vibration use-life/endurance, dust, water, car wash detergent exposure, corrosion resistance (salt spray testing), and extreme temperatures operation.
These are the only parts recommended by Ford Motor Company for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. The Alarm Switch Assembly is a single-pole/single-throw, normally closed, grounding-type door-ajar switch mounted in the vehicle's door latch. When an open door causes an open or broken circuit to ground, the switch triggers the vehicle alarm system. Engineered and manufactured to exact Ford OE specifications, these assemblies ensure O.E. quality and performance. As with all aftermarket parts, any engineering innovations or product improvements that have occurred since the vehicle's delivery are automatically included, ensuring the most current technology.
